Who we are
SecondLook Loans operates this website. We are a free referral service that connects homeowners with independent home improvement contractors. We are not a lender or a broker, we make no credit decisions, and we charge you nothing.
What we collect
- Information you give us. Your name, phone number, email address, ZIP code, project type, estimated budget, whether you were previously declined and by whom, and anything you type into the optional description field.
- Information your browser stores locally. Your answers are held in your browser’s session storage so the steps carry from one page to the next. That data stays on your device and is cleared when you close the tab.
- Standard server logs. Our hosting provider records routine request data such as IP address, browser type and pages visited.
We do not run a credit check on this website, and we do not collect Social Security numbers, dates of birth, or financial account numbers here.
How we use and share it
We use what you send to route your project to a home improvement contractor. When you submit the application form, your details are sent to SecondLook Loans and to the contractor you selected — or, if you asked us to match you, to a contractor serving your area. That contractor may then contact you and may, with your separate authorization, submit a credit application to their own third-party lenders. Those lenders have their own privacy practices, which govern what they do with your information.
We do not sell your personal information. Form submissions are delivered by a third-party form service (Web3Forms) that transmits the message to our inbox.
Contact consent (TCPA)
Checking the consent box on the application form means you agree that SecondLook Loans and the contractor you select may contact you by phone, text or email about your project, including by automated technology. Consent is not a condition of purchase. Message and data rates may apply. You can opt out at any time by replying STOP to a text, asking to be removed on a call, or emailing us at the address below.
Equal Credit Opportunity
We do not make credit decisions. Lenders reached through the contractors in our network are subject to the Equal Credit Opportunity Act, which prohibits discrimination against credit applicants on the basis of race, color, religion, national origin, sex, marital status, age (provided the applicant has the capacity to contract), because all or part of the applicant’s income derives from a public assistance program, or because the applicant has in good faith exercised a right under the Consumer Credit Protection Act.
Your choices
You can ask us what we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it. Depending on where you live you may have additional rights under state privacy law. Email us and we will respond.
Children
This site is intended for adult homeowners. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 18.
